We are very pleased to announce a new project co-led by core CR&DALL member, Professor Mia Perry, funded by the Norwegian Funding Council. It concerns the prevention of rabies in Malawi. Mia co-leads a work package with Dr Nai Ru Chng that addresses the relationship between communities and community-based organisations and the experience, awareness and engagement with rabies control and prevention measures in the country. This project follows on from several earlier projects concerning community engagement related to key global challenges in the south to which Mia has contributed or led. This project is led by Dr. Hannah J. Jørgensen, a vetinerarian from the Norwegan Institute of Vetinerary Sciences, and investigates how communities understand and practice One Health, and explores the potential for community based organisations to engage in One Health roles.
