Many congratulations to Alan Britton who has heard that a bid entitled "Don’t waste our Future! - Building a European alliance of youngsters against food waste and for new models of sustainable development and consumption in the EYD 2015” has been funded.
This is a collaborative venture led by FELCOS Umbria in Italy with a total budget of €1.5m that is part of the EuropeAid programme, "Non-State Actors and Local Authorities in Development: Raising public awareness of development issues and promoting development education in the European Union". It will seek to raise awareness among young people across Europe on the crucial issue of food waste, responsible consumption and connections with the right to food, in order to make them responsible agents of change through the construction of a European alliance of students for new models of sustainable development and lifestyle.
This is the latest EU funded project that Alan has captured under the auspices of the Education for Global Citizenship Unit. The Project’s focus on Global Learning projects within and outside of the formal education system will also be associated with CR&DALL's core themes of Poverty and International Development, Civil Society and Citizenship.
