Seminar Series:
Adult Education in New Zealand has been in a cycle of hope and despair for many years. There were significant cuts to funding in 2010 and the sector has not been greatly valued. However, a new coalition government was elected in 2017 has breathed new life into the sector with the promise of new policy settings and a five-year Tertiary Education Strategy that acknowledges the role that the ACE sector can play. This session will outline the past, present and possible future shape of ACE in New Zealand and the accompanying challenges and opportunities.

The role is to support the over 600 providers of ACE in New Zealand through training, resources, conferences, sharing best practice and advocacy to government. ACE Aotearoa is 90% funded by the New Zealand Government.
He has a strong commitment to his own learning, having completed three Masters degrees including a Master of Business Administration from the University of Wales.
He is also keen to learn from other jurisdictions such as Australia and Scotland
Colin is an active member of a small but committed band of motorcyclists and a somewhat larger but equally committed Whisky club.
