We are looking forward to seeing you at the conference next month. For those of you who haven't yet reserved your tickets they are now available for the Standing Conference on University Teaching and Research in the Education of Adults (SCUTREA) and the Universities Association for Lifelong Learning (UALL) joint conference to be held from June 6th - 9th 2022 hosted by the University of Glasgow’s Centre for Research & Development in Adult and Lifelong Learning (CR&DALL).

Barry Golding's new book, Shoulder to Shoulder: Broadening the Men’s Shed Movement, has been nominated for the 'Common Ground Research Networks Publishers Prize'. The award recognizes authors and series editors of exceptional books that were published within the last year by Common Ground.
During a cultural event on March 03, 2022, a team of researchers from the University of Glasgow (UK); the Ideas para la Paz Foundation (Colombia) and the Colegio de Sonora (Mexico) presented a report in the city of Acapulco, Mexico as one of the outcomes of the research project Educational Peacebuilding in Medellin and Acapulco: Understanding the role of education, culture and learning in responding to crises, funded by a grant from the British Academy.
The Centre for Sustainable Healthy Learning Cities and Neighbourhoods (SHLC) represented by Professor Michael Osborne and Dr Yulia Nesterova, CR&DALL core members from the School of Education, University of Glasgow, was delighted to be a partner in the 23rd ASEF Summer University (ASEFSU23), an interdisciplinary Hackathon on “Liveable Cities for a Sustainable Future” for Asian and European young professionals & students co-ordinated by the Asia-Europe Foundation.
The next UNESCO World Conference on Adult Learning and Education (CONFINTEA VII) will take place in Marrakesh in June 2022. It will be a time to reflect on the past decade and prepare for the future. It will be a chance to integrate deeper with the Education Agenda of the Sustainable Development Goals. Civil society has been playing an increasingly important role and should continue to do so.
To prepare for this engagement the editors have selected articles on important aspects related to adult learning and education within lifelong learning for sustainable development from the past two years of the PIMA Bulletin for this collection. They cover a wide variety of thematic areas, and they are related to policy, practice and theory of our field. In addition, it can serve as a reader for students and staff.
We are saddened that the present AEQ editors, Ellen Boeren, Kevin Roessger,and Liz Roumell will be stepping down at the end of their term. We extend our deep thanks for the wonderful job they have done with the journal. We are now looking for the next set of editors.
The Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) presented the webinar ‘Lifelong learning, learning cities and smart cities’ on 2 December 2021. On 9 December 2021, the UNESCO’s Section of Youth, Literacy and Skills Development, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning, and the University of East Anglia (UK) will host a webinar on ‘Family literacy and indigenous and local learning’.
